Another eleventh-hour preservation appeal

Activist Ed Hauser has asked the Cleveland Landmarks Commission to designate as historic landmarks the Broadway Mills Building and the remnants of the old Central Viaduct, which now lie in the path of the planned northern route for ODOT's widening of the I-90 bridge. (Tom Breckenridge. "Activist challenges Inner Belt plan." Plain Dealer, Tuesday, April 18, 2006. p. B-1. Also: NewsChannel5 version)

P.S. This city really could use a more rational approach to managing its historic landmarks than addressing them only when they have one foot in the grave. The Huletts should have taught us that much!
